Description

Handmade in Great Britain. Deep and warm, yet very clean sounding snare drum. Ultimate add on to your new British Drum Co. drum kit.

Lounge Series drums are designed to recapture the tones and looks of the greatest vintage drums.

As one of the most exciting drum companies in Britain, British Drum Company drums have risen to become some of the most sought after drums in the UK today. Their drums consist of handmade shells produced in the UK using Scandinavian Birch, adhering to British drum making traditions; with the focus on stunning design, innovation and high quality materials.

Founded in 2015 by award winning master drum maker Keith Keough, Brit Award winning Kasabian drummer Ian Matthews, world renowned comedian and drum lover Al Murray, Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Corps drummer Stu Warmington, and prolific engineering designer Alan Kitching.

The key to British Drum Company’s signature sound is their Cold-Press Moulding technique used in the manufacture of their drums. As the name suggests, this eliminates the use of heat in the shell building process, maintaining the full sonic potential of the wood which would otherwise be compromised by the addition of heat in the pressing procedure.

All British Drum Company snare drums now feature their new Palladium snare lug. Designed around the Art-Deco period the new lug gives life to a new identity to be proud of.

All British Drum Company snare drums are fitted with their British traditional snare strainer and custom snare straps which help give a smoother on-off action. All hoops are 2.3mm triple flange for a more responsive feel and all tension rods are fitted with a 3mm thick black nylon washer to aid smoother tuning and reduce the chance of de-tuning.

“Cold Press Moulding” is key to the British Drum Co’s signature sound. Using years of experience in wood working and drum shell manufacture we believe the secret to our sound and the key to a stable drum shell is the absence of heat when pressing and moulding the shells. Timber and shells are allowed to naturally acclimatise to the surrounding environment before and after being moulded. Regarded as the finest shells reviewed by Geoff Nichols of Rhythm Magazine.
