The Gretsch 20″ Catalina Maple 5-Piece Shell Pack – Walnut Glaze suits drummers who want a compact five-piece setup with real presence and punch. The 20″ x 16″ bass drum feels quick under the foot and still has enough body for a miked gig. Moving through 10″, 12″ and 14″ toms gives fills an even pitch drop that is easy to tune and easy to place in an arrangement. The seven-ply Gretsch Formula Maple shells sit on traditional 30-degree bearing edges. In practice, that means a rounded fundamental with enough attack to stay clear in a band, plus a wide, musical tuning range rather than one narrow sweet spot. The 2.3 mm triple-flanged hoops let the heads breathe and make small tuning changes easy to hear.
