Starter drum kits are drum kits designed specifically with beginners in mind. For this reason they usually come with everything you need to get playing. Including all the cymbal stands, kick pedals, sticks and cymbals that you need.
We highly recommend the Mapex Tornado starter kit which comes in a choice of 3 different colours. Despite coming in at an impressively low price tag for a an all in one package it is built in the same factory as Mapex’s high end drum kits so retains the same build quality and durability you would expect from Mapex. This is a starter kit you know wont fall apart on you a few months down the line.
While all starter kits come with cymbals it is worth looking out for the kits that come with a cymbal pack from a big name cymbal company such as Sabian or Paiste. Cymbals can often be the weakest point of a starter kit, and the first thing you’ll need to replace, so choosing a more expensive option such as the Pearl Export with it’s included Sabian SBR pack or the Yamaha Rydeen with its Paiste 101 set might be a good investment in the long run as you are unlikely to ever wear through these cymbals.
