Description

Gretsch Catalina Maple 14″ x 6.5″ Snare Drum – Walnut Glaze. Walnut Glaze covers maple rather than walnut construction. Its 14 x 6.5-inch size gives the rimshot width and lets the maple sound bloom after the front attack.

Shell and Sound:

Seven maple plies give this snare a balanced, musical shell response. Gretsch leaves the interior natural and uses 30-degree edges. More shell depth gives stronger strokes a fuller tail.

Hardware and Response:

The flanged hoops leave the head free to resonate, helping the 6.5-inch chamber produce its fuller tail.
