Description

Gretsch Renown Maple 14″ x 5.5″ Snare Drum – Cherry Burst. This Cherry Burst snare gives the stick attack a warm wood underside. At 14 x 5.5 inches it has more shell bloom than the shallow model, yet ghost notes do not get buried in the decay.

Shell and Sound:

Inside the finish is a seven-ply Gretsch Formula Maple shell with 30-degree edges. Silver Sealer lines the interior, leaving a clear stick edge above the wood tone. This depth keeps some resonance behind a confident rimshot.

Hardware and Response:

Gretsch’s 302 hoops use double-flanged steel, 3mm thick. They give a defined cross-stick and leave space around a full backbeat. There is still air around the note when the drum is tuned lower.
