The Module

The e/Merge Module is an elegant and simple piece of design and engineering. Not stuffed full of useless features that you’ll never use the MDL1 is designed for performance and simplicity. The all new acoustic library was recorded in one of the top studios in Music City USA, Nashville, Tennessee using both modern and vintage kits in a wide variety of sizes. With eight assignable outs, two master outs, headphone outs and an auxiliary in, the MDL1 easily handles all the live performance and recording needs of even the most demanding drummer. An easily accessible ambience slider allows you to control the amount of room sound you hear when playing. Dial it back for tight studio sounds for crank it up for epic roomy reverb. Rather than a simple digital reverb effect the MDL1 makes use of the ambience recorder when the original drum samples were recorded providing unrivalled realism.

Wave Trigger Technology

Wave Trigger Technology is really what sets the e/Merge apart from the rest of the pack. This fast and sensitive technology was based upon KORG’s ground breaking digital hand drum the Wave Drum and allows for such sensitivity that even your choice of sticks can make a discernible difference to the sound produced.  Simply put, Wave Trigger Technology is fast. Every bit as fast as sound itself. This speeds creates a realism that is on another level for electric drummers with imperceptible lag and dynamics that mean you performance is every bit as much a reflection of you as it is on an acoustic kit. When you feel Wave Trigger Technology combined with PUREtouch electronic pads you will realise the game has been changed for electronic drum triggers.

PUREtouch Trigger Pads

The first thing that catches anyones eyes with PUREtouch pads is the huge dimensions. Presented in ‘real’ sizes that drummers would expect to play on an acoustic kit there has been no skimping here which makes the whole experience feel as natural as possible. As soon as you play on a PUREtouch pad though you will notice the innovations go far beyond simply the size. 6 layers of material have been used to create the most natural feeling drum heads on the market. Just like acoustic heads you are free to tension the heads to your own preference of feel. Pearl and Korg engineers have produced a snare trigger pad that responds like an acoustic drum no matter where you strike and finished it off wiith perfectly placed dual rim triggers that help produce natural rim shots and cross stick sounds.

PUREtouch Cymbals

Each e/MERGE kit includes a PUREtouch Electronic Cymbal pack consisting of an 18” three zone Ride (bell, bow and edge), one or two 15” two zone Crash (bow and edge), and 14” two zone Hi-hats (bow and edge). PUREtouch Crash and Ride Cymbals feature a multi-layer construction encapsulated in rubber with a playing action which is surprisingly similar to that of acoustic cymbals, but with a slightly softer feel so as to control stick on pad sound. PUREtouch cymbals have a unique feature, based upon frequency, that blends the edge and bow sounds consistent with where you strike the cymbal. This eliminates the affect on rival electronic kits where the edge sound sometimes sounds like a completely different cymbal to the bow sound. Most electronic cymbals include a choke feature that cuts off the sound when you grab the switch located under the cymbal, but the unique natural choke function of PUREtouch Cymbals eliminates the sound and instantaneously triggers the natural sympathetic harmonic ring inherent to choking real acoustic cymbals. Truly the most natural sounding electronic cymbals ever and a stunning attention to detail which epitomises this kit.

PUREtouch Hi-hats have the same natural feel and stick response and use a plunger trigger system that is compatible with the hi-hat stand of your preference. The Capacitive Motion Sensor (CMS) developed for the PUREtouch Hi-hats provides an extended range of articulation allowing your playing to enjoy the full range of nuance it would on an acoustic kit. The patent pending vented bottom cymbal provides stability to the hi-hats while reducing mechanical sound volume.

The Bass Drum

e/Merge drum kits are available in traditional or hybrid configurations. Both configurations feature similar kick pads but with the hybrid configuration the trigger is encased within an acoustic bass drum which is silenced using a mesh head to give the kit a front facing look that suits stages better. Both triggers are optimised for flexibility and ease of setup and are engineered to provide the satisfying connection you would expect from an acoustic bass drum.

The Icon E- Rack is sturdier than most touring setups and offers complete flexibility even if you decide to grow your kit further down the line. Setup your drum kit in whatever configuration suits you with complete ease. If within 30 days of receiving your purchase you decide it is not right for you providing it is returned in “as new” condition within its unopened original packing we will refund or exchange your item as desired. If your purchase develops a fault within the 2 year warranty period you can return it to us and we will repair or replace it. A fault is defined as a defect that you would not normally expect to occur through normal wear and tear and that has not been caused by improper use.
