Description

Tama 20″ Superstar Classic 5-Piece Shell Pack – Coffee Fade is built around 5 mm six-ply maple tom and snare shells with a 7 mm eight-ply maple bass drum shell. The 20″ x 16″ bass drum and 14″ floor tom keep the low end controlled, while two shallow rack toms and a 14″ x 5″ snare make this a complete five-drum setup. The thin shells respond without needing to be hit hard, and the low-mass lugs leave more of the maple shell free to ring.

Shell Construction and Bearing Edges:

• 5 mm six-ply maple tom and snare shells with a 7 mm eight-ply maple bass drum shell
• Precision-cut 45-degree bearing edges with a back cut for clear attack, easy head seating and a broad tuning range
• The thin shells respond without needing to be hit hard, and the low-mass lugs leave more of the maple shell free to ring.

Mounting and Hardware:

• Star-Mount rack-tom suspension supports resonance without drilling into the shell
• Triple-flanged hoops and low-mass single lugs keep the drums lively
• Power Craft II heads include a pre-muffled bass drum batter head
• Included mounting hardware: MTH600 double tom holder

Sound, Tuning and Gigging:

• Sound: a lively maple response with bright attack, warm sustain and plenty of projection
• The five-drum 20″, 10″, 12″, 14″ and 14″ snare layout is compact enough for smaller stages but broad enough for full-band arrangements.
• Best suited to intermediate players stepping into rehearsals, recording and regular live work
