Description

The Gretsch 18″ Catalina Club 3-Piece Shell Pack – Satin Antique Fade is the stripped-back bop configuration: a shallow 18″ bass drum with 12″ and 14″ toms, and no snare included. It keeps the footprint tight but leaves enough shell depth for a rounded note and a convincing low end. Seven-ply Gretsch Formula Mahogany shells and 30-degree bearing edges supply the dark warmth, rounded decay and easy response that make Catalina Club such a useful working kit.

Shell Pack Configuration:

12″ x 8″ rack tom
14″ x 14″ floor tom
18″ x 14″ bass drum

Shell Construction and Bearing Edges:

Seven-ply Gretsch Formula Mahogany shells with natural interiors
Traditional 30-degree bearing edges for a warm fundamental, rounded sustain and broad tuning range
Shallow 14″-deep bass drum design combines vintage-style punch with a fast pedal response

Hoops, Mounting and Drumheads:

1.6 mm triple-flanged steel hoops on toms
Matching wood bass drum hoops finished in Satin Antique Fade
Bass-drum-mounted single tom holder with 12.7 mm L-arm and Mini GTS suspension
Round gas-cap bass drum mount plate
Low-mass tom and floor tom leg brackets, telescopic bass drum spurs and Gretsch T-Wing fittings
Remo coated Ambassador-style tom batter heads with clear resonant heads
Clear Remo bass drum batter with muffle ring and coated white Gretsch resonant head with muffle ring
Chrome shell hardware

Sound and Playing Style:

The 18″ x 14″ bass drum speaks fast and stays defined at low to medium dynamics
The 12″ rack tom and 14″ floor tom make a classic compact pairing with warm fundamentals and clear pitch separation
Ideal for jazz, soul, acoustic music, theatre, recording and drummers moving from study into regular gigging

Finish:

Satin Antique Fade lacquer with a soft low-sheen transition across the mahogany grain, paired with chrome hardware

Please Note:

3-piece shell pack; snare drum is not included
Cymbals, stands, bass drum pedal and throne are not included
