The R2 Air Tom Suspension System maximises shell resonance by minimising contact, allowing each drum to vibrate freely for improved sustain and tonal clarity. Combined with MasterCast hoops and CL Bridge lugs, this ensures excellent tuning consistency and a refined playing response.

The Shells

Delivering a strong, articulate attack with excellent projection, these shells also offer a smooth, full-bodied resonance. Masters Maple drums are built using North American maple plies selected from Pearl’s Masterworks Veneer Vault, creating a balanced tonal profile across lows, mids, and highs. The 6-ply maple shell construction produces rich, sustained low end, a powerful midrange, and clear, centred highs, making it ideal for dynamic live performance. A 45-degree low-contact bearing edge helps maintain a focused and controlled sound.

The Finish

Pearl’s meticulous hand-lacquering process ensures a premium-quality finish with outstanding visual depth. This kit is presented in a distinctive Satin Charred Oak finish.

The Tom Mounts

The R2 Air Tom Suspension System represents a major step forward in drum mounting design, allowing the rack toms to resonate more freely for a more natural and open tone. This system enhances tonal consistency across the kit, creating a seamless connection between rack and floor toms. When used alongside Pearl’s L-Arm and GyroLock-L system (sold separately), it offers exceptional flexibility and one of the most refined mounting solutions available.
