Gretsch 18″ USA Brooklyn 3-Piece Shell Pack – Satin Ice Blue Metallic

Description

The Gretsch 18″ USA Brooklyn 3-Piece Shell Pack – Satin Ice Blue Metallic is the compact jazz-sized Brooklyn configuration, but it is far from a one-style kit. The 18″ x 14″ bass drum has a fast, rounded note that works beautifully at acoustic volume and still takes a microphone well. A 12″ rack tom and 14″ floor tom keep the tuning spread focused, melodic and easy to control in smaller rooms. Six-ply North American maple/poplar shells and traditional 30-degree bearing edges give Brooklyn drums their warm fundamental, punchy attack and slightly more open decay. Gretsch 302 hoops are 3 mm thick and double-flanged, so the toms breathe freely while keeping a solid feel under the stick.

Shell Pack Configuration:

• 12″ x 8″ rack tom
• 14″ x 14″ floor tom
• 18″ x 14″ bass drum

Shell Construction and Bearing Edges:

• Six-ply North American maple/poplar shells, made slightly thicker than Gretsch USA Custom shells
• Traditional 30-degree bearing edges for a warm fundamental, focused attack and broad tuning response
• Gretsch Silver Sealer shell interiors with individual Brooklyn model and serial labels
• Handcrafted at the Gretsch factory in Ridgeland, South Carolina, USA

Hoops, Mounting and Drumheads:

• Gretsch 302 3 mm double-flanged steel hoops on the rack tom and floor tom
• Satin Natural maple bass drum hoops
• Straight-sided Gretsch GTS suspension mount on the rack tom
• Gretsch floor tom brackets with 12.7 mm legs and Gretsch bass drum spurs
• Gretsch Permatone heads by Remo with coated tom batter heads and clear resonant heads
• Coated Powerstroke-style bass drum batter head and white resonant head with black Gretsch logo
• Chrome shell hardware and key-style tension rods

Sound, Tuning and Gigging:

• The 18″ x 14″ bass drum has a quick response and rounded low note without crowding an acoustic mix
• The 12″ and 14″ toms keep a clear pitch relationship across higher and medium tunings
• Gretsch 302 hoops let the toms breathe more freely than heavier die-cast hoops while retaining a firm rimshot
• A characterful choice for jazz, folk, roots music, quieter sessions and gigging drummers who value a compact footprint

Finish:

• Satin Ice Blue Metallic lacquer with a cool blue colour and fine metallic shimmer, paired with chrome hardware

Please Note:

• Three-piece shell pack containing the listed rack tom, floor tom and bass drum
• Snare drum, cymbals, stands, pedals and throne are not included
