Gretsch 22″ Catalina Maple 4-Piece Shell Pack – Antique Maple

Description

The Gretsch 22″ Catalina Maple 4-Piece Shell Pack – Antique Maple keeps things simple with a classic one-up, one-down layout, a full-size 22″ bass drum and a deeper 14″ x 6.5″ snare. There is plenty of room around the kit, and the wide step from the 12″ rack tom to the 16″ floor tom makes each drum occupy its own part of the mix. It is an uncluttered configuration that makes sense for rehearsal rooms, studio sessions and regular gigging. The seven-ply Gretsch Formula Maple shells sit on traditional 30-degree bearing edges. In practice, that means a rounded fundamental with enough attack to stay clear in a band, plus a wide, musical tuning range rather than one narrow sweet spot. The 2.3 mm triple-flanged hoops let the heads breathe and make small tuning changes easy to hear.

Shell Pack Configuration:

• 12″ x 8″ rack tom
• 16″ x 16″ floor tom
• 22″ x 16″ bass drum
• 14″ x 6.5″ snare drum

Shell Construction and Bearing Edges:

• Seven-ply Gretsch Formula Maple shells with natural interiors
• Traditional 30-degree bearing edges that favour a rounded fundamental while retaining clear attack
• The shell and edge combination remains responsive across medium and lower tunings rather than forcing one fixed sound

Hoops, Mounting and Drumheads:

• 2.3 mm triple-flanged steel hoops on the toms and snare drum
• Matching maple bass drum hoops finished in Antique Maple
• Bass-drum-mounted single tom holder with 12.7 mm L-arm and upgraded low-profile GTS suspension mount
• Round gas-cap bass drum mount plate with Gretsch G memory lock
• Low-profile tom and floor tom leg brackets, telescopic bass drum spurs and rubber-isolated die-cast bass drum claws
• Gretsch T-Wing fittings and chrome shell hardware
• Remo coated UT Ambassador tom and snare batter heads with clear UT resonant heads
• Clear Remo UT Ambassador bass drum batter with muffle ring and coated white Gretsch resonant head with muffle ring
• Full Range snare throw-off and butt plate

Sound and Playing Style:

• The 22″ x 16″ bass drum has the low-end weight expected from a full-size kick without feeling slow under the foot
• A 12″ rack tom and 16″ floor tom create a broad pitch gap, which works particularly well for big, decisive fills
• The 14″ x 6.5″ snare has more body than a shallower drum and keeps its crack when the band gets loud
• Well suited to rock, indie, blues, pop, roots music and drummers who prefer a focused setup with room to move

Finish:

• Translucent Antique Maple lacquer with a warm amber colour that keeps the natural grain visible, paired with chrome hardware

Please Note:

• 4-piece shell pack including the matching snare drum and the listed tom mounting hardware
• Cymbals, cymbal stands, hi-hat stand, bass drum pedal and throne are not included
