Description

Gretsch Renown Maple 14″ x 6.5″ Snare Drum – Vintage Pearl. This Vintage Pearl model favours a fuller, more resonant wood voice than the shorter Renowns. The 14-inch head remains broad, and the deeper chamber gives a medium-tuned note time to develop.

Shell and Sound:

Seven plies of maple produce the rounded body of this snare. Gretsch finishes the inside with Silver Sealer and uses 30-degree bearing edges. At this depth, the shell can bloom behind a medium-tuned rimshot.

Hardware and Response:

Gretsch 302 steel hoops are double-flanged and 3mm thick. They give the rimshot definition while allowing the head to resonate naturally. The hoop lets the deeper chamber contribute to the backbeat.
