The Shells

The Session Studio Select drum shell is a thin, 5.4mm EvenPly-Six combination of Masters-grade Birch and African Mahogany. The controlled punch of Pearl’s fresh 60-degree bearing edge delivers a blend of pre-EQ’d clarity and tonal warmth. These drums feature lush, thunderous bottom end sustain with commanding high range attack. The thin shell allows the tonewood to “breath”, increasing note length without sacrificing articulation. Specifically crafted for recording environments and medium-to-large venues.

Shell Hardware

Session Studio Select drum kits have been crafted from the start to combine consistent tuning with rugged reliability. Session style RL lugs provide extra weight which encourages extra resonance from the shell while the OptiMount four-point tom suspension mounts makes sure that the toms are held as free from resistance as possible. Each tom benefits from a 2.3mm Superhoop which helps provide solid and accurate tuning.

The Finish

Pearl use a 28 step lacquering process to create the Gloss Barnwood finish seen on this kit for a truly high end finish that will turn heads in any setting.
