Description
At the heart of the DTX-PRO is a collection of carefully recorded acoustic drum sounds captured in professional recording environments. Yamaha sampled the instruments alongside the natural ambience of the rooms, helping the module reproduce the depth and character of an acoustic drum kit rather than simply triggering isolated drum samples.
The front panel is designed to make sound adjustment quick and intuitive. Three dedicated Kit Modifier controls provide immediate access to Ambience, Compression and Effects, allowing the overall character of a kit to be changed without navigating through menus. From a dry studio sound to a powerful compressed live kit or heavily effected electronic setup, substantial changes can be made while playing.
Sounds and Kits:
- 712 onboard voices
- 40 preset drum kits
- 200 user kit locations
- 256-note maximum polyphony
- Acoustic drums, cymbals, percussion and electronic sounds
- User WAV sample import capability
- Detailed individual instrument editing
- EQ, compression, transient adjustment and effects processing
Kit Modifier Controls:
- Ambience – adjusts the amount of natural room sound
- Compression – adds punch, presence and overall kit compression
- Effect – controls the amount of the selected kit effect
For players who want to go beyond the front-panel controls, the DTX-PRO provides extensive editing options for individual instruments. Drum tuning, muffling, cymbal size and other characteristics can be adjusted, while EQ, compression, transient processing and effects provide further control over the finished sound. Custom WAV samples can also be imported for creating personalised acoustic, electronic and hybrid kits.
