Description
The DTX10K-X uses Yamaha’s Textured Cellular Silicone (TCS) playing surfaces across the snare and tom pads. TCS provides a comfortable and natural rebound designed to reproduce the response of acoustic drums while keeping acoustic playing volume low. Unlike conventional mesh heads, the TCS surfaces do not require tension adjustment, providing a consistent playing response every time you sit behind the kit.
The pads use genuine birch shells built and finished using techniques developed in Yamaha’s acoustic drum factories. This gives the DTX10K-X the visual presence and familiar positioning of an acoustic kit, while the Real Wood finish showcases the natural appearance of the shells. The 12″ snare, two 10″ rack toms and 12″ floor tom provide generously sized playing surfaces, while the KP128 kick pad uses a 12″ mesh head with a multi-layer cushion for a solid and responsive bass drum feel.

The cymbal setup provides realistic dimensions and plenty of room for natural playing technique.
