At the heart of the DTX6K3-X is the powerful DTX-PRO sound module, loaded with brand-new drum sounds recorded in top European studios. These multi-layered samples respond dynamically to every nuance of your playing, while Yamaha’s groundbreaking sampled ambience technology recreates the natural sound of real rooms rather than relying on artificial reverb. With professional-grade effects, positional sensing cymbals and premium silicone pads, the DTX6K3-X offers an electronic drumming experience that feels closer than ever to an acoustic kit.
Powerful processing allows for studio style effects such as transient editing, and multi channel eq to be applied straight from the box. Ground breaking “sampled ambience” gives a new level of realism to electronic drums. Rather than applying a standard reverb to every kit, Yamaha have sampled the natural ambience of the very room the drum was recorded in.
Positional Sensing Ride
The huge range of sounds an acoustic ride cymbal can produce makes it a challenge to replicate digitally but the positional sensing technology inside the ride cymbal of this kit really helps to get closer. Rather than producing a generic “edge” “bow” or “bell” sound when struck Yamaha DTX6 series kits can respond to how close to the edge or bell you struck.
Real Ambience
Making an electric drum kit sound natural is one of the hardest challenges of designing an electronic drum kit but by introducing sampled ambience Yamaha have moved a huge step closer. Rather than adding an off the shelf reverb effect to each kit Yamaha have sampled the ambience of the room that the kit was originally recorded in. This attention to detail is what has always set Yamaha electronic drum kits apart from the pack.
New FX
An ultra powerful processor within the DTX Pro module allows for effects that were previously not possible at this price range. Multi channel EQ means you can edit the sound of each part of the kit independent of the rest. Dial some more bass into your kick without muddying your cymbals or give your snare a bit more crack without losing the warmth of your toms. The choice is yours!
The Pads
The DTX6K2-X features one XP80 silicone pad which we rate as one of the most realistic feeling drum pads available as well as 3 XP70 pads for the toms. 3x PCY135 Pads provides a super responsive ride and 2x crashes. The RHH135 Hi Hat Pad on Yamaha Hi Hat Stand provides a moving hi hat for added realism.
