Smooth Direct-Link Action:
The HHS9D uses Yamaha’s Direct Link System with ball bearings incorporated into both the upper and lower sections of the linkage as well as the hinge. This reduces friction throughout the pedal mechanism for smooth, responsive footwork across a wide dynamic range.
The mirror-finished footboard shares its distinctive appearance with Yamaha’s flagship FP9 pedal series, including elegant blue accents and a low-profile heel designed to promote smooth and natural pedal technique.
Independent Swivel Legs:
Two independently movable double-braced legs provide exceptional freedom when positioning the HHS9D. Each leg can be adjusted separately, making it easier to integrate the stand around bass drum pedals, additional hardware and more complex kit configurations. Position markings make it straightforward to reproduce a stable setup consistently.
LC9 Twist to Set Hi-Hat Clutch:
The included LC9 clutch uses Yamaha’s Twist to Set mechanism, allowing the clutch nut to be attached with a simple twist for faster cymbal installation. Double locking nuts help prevent unwanted loosening during performance, while a protective plate helps protect the hi-hat shaft.
Cast Metal Cymbal Seat:
A cast metal lower cymbal seat is combined with harder felt to help produce a sharp, rich and clearly defined foot-close sound. The cymbal seat also incorporates angle adjustment with an anti-loosening mechanism, allowing the lower cymbal angle to be fine-tuned while maintaining a reliable setting.
360 Memory Lock:
Yamaha’s 360 Memory Lock maintains more than the stand’s vertical height. It also fixes the rotational position of the upper assembly, helping maintain the position of the cymbal angle adjustment mechanism and making it easier to reproduce the same setup after transportation.
