Bass drum ports help protect the sound hole on your resonant head from damage whilst also giving it a colourful finish. You might treat your drum kit with the utmost care, but you can’t always rely on the sound engineer to do the same. A carelessly pulled out mic is all it takes to put a tear in a resonant head and you could be looking at a costly replacement.
Kick Ports are a little different from standard Bass Drum O’s in that they are more substantial funnel shapes that actually change the sound on a bass drum. Kick Ports lower the fundamental tone of the drum thus creating more low end. A huge improvement if you think your kick is lacking a bit of low end power. They also look great!
Installing kick drum ports is relatively simple but can be daunting to do for the first time. Each pack comes with clear instructions how to do this yourself but we are happy to do it for you free of charge when you buy a bass drum head at the same time. Just drop us an email with your order number after you’ve completed your order and let us know where you would like it placed. (4 O’clock, 7 O’clock etc).
