The Istanbul Agop Xist Series offers a modern sonic edge backed by a long heritage of world class traditional cymbal making. Produced using a pre-form casting method that requires roughly 3,000 fewer hammer blows than traditional techniques, Xist cymbals deliver a powerful, contemporary sound while remaining remarkably consistent. By blending innovative manufacturing with classic hand craftsmanship, Istanbul Agop is able to offer professional quality B20 cast cymbals (80% copper, 20% tin) at a price that is accessible to drummers at any level.
Like many precision machined cymbals, Xist models produce a bright, focused, modern voice that excels in rock settings while still being versatile enough for lower volume playing. They are often compared to the Sabian AAX series for their clarity and punch. The Xist family extends into Xist iON, Xist iON Dark, Xist Power and Xist Dry Dark variations, giving drummers an impressive range of tonal options at a highly competitive price point.
At Drum Central, we’re big fans of the Xist line and recommend it strongly to drummers in this category – they genuinely perform like high end cymbals. The Xist Cymbal Pack, complete with a free matching hardcase, is an excellent upgrade choice for players moving beyond beginner cymbals and wanting a gig ready professional sound.
