The Sound

Yamaha sample their own drum kits to provide 10 great sounding kits in one module. With a combination of acoustic and electronic sounds, this kit is a flexible as you need it to be. Quickly and easily edit kits and make your own custom kits with a huge range of sounds to choose from.

Cymbal Pads

Like most entry level kits Yamaha 402 Series electronic drum kits feature single zone cymbal pads which normally means you can only get one type of sound from them but with some clever engineering Yamaha have included a bell sound that triggers when you hit the cymbal harder meaning you can still change between the bow and bell sound on your cymbals. They have a great feel and response for a realistic playing experience and are even choke-able.

The Kick Pedal

The DTX402K drum kit features a button style kick pedal which while it lacks the realism of the hammer action pedals available on the 432K 452K and 482K models it benefits from far less vibrations and subsequently less noise transference through the floor.

Training

Yamaha 402 series drum kits benefit from 10 built in training functions that only an electronic drum kit can offer. This includes the ‘Rhythm Gate’ feature which helps to foster a sense of timing.

The App

All DTX 402 Series drum kits are compatible with the ‘DTX402 Touch’ iOS and Android apps which when connected to the drum kit offer touch screen control, quick and easy recording and sharing, and advanced sound editing capabilities. Connect to a PC

The USB port on this kit allows drummers with an interest in music production to plug their kits directly into a computer to make use of external sounds or even to operate as a midi controller.
