Vid has been playing music and teaching for the last 10 years and throughout his musical experience he’s learned one thing… Music has to be FUN!
Growing up as a multi-instrumentalist, he studied a Bachelor of Music at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa); Receiving an Honours Degree in Composition and Performance. Here he specialised in Jazz Drums performance and composition for ensemble, big band, orchestra and film music. For the last 3 years he has made a name for himself in the Edinburgh music scene playing in festival shows, leading Blues ensemble workshops in the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival and writing original music with local artists. It is guaranteed that all of his drumming students leave with a deeper knowledge of musicality, musicianship and melody. Trust that there will be singing in your drum lessons!
