The Avedis Zildjian Company, more commonly known as Zildjian, is an Armenian-American musical instrument manufacturer and the largest cymbal making company in the world. Founded in 1623 by Avedis Zildjian in Constantinople, Zildjian have been setting the world standard of cymbals for centuries.

Avedis stumbled across the Zildjian alloy in 1618 while working on a formula for the creation of gold. This secret alloy has been at the core of their world class cymbal making ever since. 15 people work together to make every single Zildjian alloy cymbal, while specific ranges are pored over and handcrafted using an intense 14-step process. Each cymbal is then sonically tested by a team of experts (with a combined experience of nearly 100 years) to ensure that they meet the high standards you’ve now come to expect from Zildjian products.

The legendary “K Con” is renowned for its perfect blended sound quality.  Complex hammering contributes to the cymbals’ unique sonic identity and dark tones that can be at once cutting and smooth. The Zildjian K Constantinople range sits at the higher end of the Zildjian price spectrum. They’ve been described by the company as the “pinnacle of Zildjian craftsmanship” and it’s easy to see why. Made in small batches, a complex 14-step hammering process (leaving deep hammer marks) has produced cymbals with gradual curves and a perfectly blended, balanced sound. The production style means each model features an almost unique sonic personality of its own too. Rich, dark tones are the main characteristics – however, this can appear both smooth and cutting across the breadth of the range. They were originally designed as the perfect companion for jazz drumming, but they have since outgrown that tag and are now used regularly in pop, funk and even rock.
