Meinl use 6 different alloys to craft their cymbals which is more than any other cymbal manufacturer is using today. Because of this they are able to offer the widest range of cymbal sound characteristics available.
Living up to their name, Meinl Byzance Extra Dry cymbals are extremely dry, with low-pitched, trashy sounds with short sustain. The raw unlathed surfaces and extensive hand hammering suggest that their sound might be loud and fierce. In reality, the Extra Dry series reveals its dark, earthy tones and comes to life when played at lower volumes.
