Evans Drumheads

Part of the D’Addario percussion line, Evans provide an extensive range of high quality drumheads for snare, bass drum, toms, timpani, marching snare, congas, bongos and timbale. One of the leading brands of drumhead available, they are famed for their durability, sound quality and tonal response in both a live and studio setting.

G1

Evans G1 drumheads blend a bright tone with sustain and sensitivity. Similar in style to Remo Ambassador heads, their 10-mil, single-ply construction provides an open and expressive sound that is warm and versatile.

G2

A perfect blend of depth, sustain and attack, the G2 is a two-ply head (7-mil each) featuring extraordinary consistency and durability. Similar in style to the Remo Emperor head, its versatility makes it a perfect choice for the working drummer who switches between styles.

EMAD

The Externally Mounted Adjustable Damping system is what sets the EMAD range apart from other bass drumheads – a foam dampening ring on the outside of the head which focuses the sound and controls sustain and overtones.

The standard EMAD skin is a single ply of 10-mil film providing an ideal balance of punch, power and low-end. EMAD2 is a two-ply version constructed with a 10-mil inner ply and a 6.5-mil outer ply, designed to provide a stronger attack with less low-end resonance in comparison to the single-ply EMAD. The Evans EMAD Heavyweight features a double ply of 10-mil film, providing the ultimate in durability  – an ideal choice for heavy players who find themselves going through bass drumheads quickly. The GMAD head offers the feel, punch, and power of a single-ply head with enhanced durability  – its 12-mil film construction makes it a more robust version of the standard EMAD drumhead.

UV

Evans’ patented UV coating process makes these drumheads impressively durable, consistent and balanced. With UV technology, drummers don’t have to worry about flaked, chipped, or worn out coatings as these heads are known for showing next to no wear even after hours of playing.

Made with a single ply of 10-mil film, UV1 heads have a very balanced attack, long sustain, enhanced brightness and increased durability over the average single-ply. UV2 drumheads apply the process over two plies of reinforced 7-mil film, making for an impressively robust, consistent and balanced choice.

Genera

This 10-mil, single-ply head features a built-in dampening ring on its underside to control overtones and reduce sustain. Similar to an Evans G1 but with a built in E-Ring, Genera drumheads provide a warm and responsive yet focused sound. The Genera Dry has additional small air vents punched around the outer ring of the head which further reduces overtones and creates an extremely focused and dry sound.

Power Center Reverse Dot

A single-ply 10-mil head with extra durability and focus provided by a centrally located 5-mil patch on the bottom of the head. A unique slotted design in the 5″ diameter dot allows it to flex, keeping the head open and resonant. Similar in style to a Remo Controlled Sound.

EC2

The Evans EC2 series are double-ply heads constructed of 7-mil film. They are optimised for attack, tone, length of sustain and ease of tuning no matter the size of the head. Evans’ patented Sound Shaping Technology Edge Control ring, attached to the underside of the head, delivers an extremely well balanced and pre-EQ’d sound across the full kit by varying the size of the ring for each different head size. The effect is similar to that of an Evans E- Ring but in a more subtle way.

EQ

The Evans EQ range offers a warm yet focused sound with a pronounced low-end punch. The EQ1 resonant head combines a 10-mil solid front, internal overtone control ring and dry vents to produce a round and balanced sound. The EQ3 series produces a controlled, short decay that’s ideal for both live and studio applications and comes with an optional mic hole, making them popular with drummers and sound engineers alike. The 10-mil, single-ply EQ4 provides durability and a woody attack that speaks in live scenarios and in the studio. The width of the internal control ring varies in proportion to head diameter, giving control to larger drums and stability at lower tunings.

300 Snare Side

Evans 300 is the most popular range of snare side heads that Evans offer. A single ply head at only 3-mil thick, they are highly recommended for use as a resonant head on any snare drum.

Hydraulic

The Evans Hydraulic series have a unique design – they feature a thin layer of oil between two 7-mil plies, creating a distinctive short, low and fat sound. The Hydraulic Red Range provides the same qualities with an eye-catching, colourful look.

Calftone

Calftone heads are designed to recreate the tonality and warmth of natural animal skin heads but with the consistency and ease of tuning that comes with Evans’ Level 360 technology. The Strata Series are a similar line of heads designed to emulate the look and sound of traditional calfskin using synthetic materials.

Black Chrome

Evans Black Chrome drumheads have a unique design which shortens the sustain of the drum and accentuates the mid-to-low-end frequencies that small drums need to sound rich and deep – ideal for drummers who want a fast, deadened and punchy response from their drums.

ST ‘Super Tough’

Evans ST ‘Super Tough’ snare heads are as robust as their name suggests. Made with two plies of 7.5mil film, they are reassuringly durable and give a full-bandwidth rimshot sound.

SoundOff Mutes

With a volume reduction of 95%, these pads are an excellent way to keep practice noise to a minimum. SoundOff mutes provide excellent stick response and are durable enough for the heaviest hitters.
