We Went To The 2022 UK Drum Show

Young Drummer of the Year 2022 Finalist, Nemo Ganguli takes us around the 2022 UK Drum Show. We met with drum manufacturers and got the chance to see some of the best equipment on the market today and got an insight into what we can expect for the future from companies such as Ludwig, Pearl, Mapex, Meinl, British Drum Co. and many more.

First up Meinl who were highlighting some of their newest cymbal ranges including some of our new favourites from the Classics Custom Dual Range. As well as letting drummers get their hands on their Meinl Stick and Brush Range.

Ludwig were on site with their stunning range of kits and snare drums relaunching the Classic Pink Oyster finish on the Ludwig Classic Maple (available at Drum Central) and celebrating 50 years of Vistalite.

Yamaha were happy to finally let drummers see their addition to the stage custom range, the Stage Custom Hip which they released last year but had yet to get to a drum show due to Covid. They were nice enough to showcase some of their artist kits letting us get up close and personal with kits made for legends such as Don Hepburn and Steve White.

At Mapex it was all about showing off the new finishes in Saturn Classic and Armory and they were well worth showing off. Mapex continuing to deliver some of the most eye catching finishes in the business.

British Drum Company had one of the most impressive and definitely the biggest stands at the U.K. Drum Show. Offering a tonne of brand new finishes in both the Legend and the Lounge series which really stole the show and a chance for drummers to see an hear their phenomenal attention to detail up close you couldn’t miss the BDC stand this year.

Pearl were all about the (re)launch of the E-Merge kit, Pearl’s entrance into the high end electric drums market made in conjunction with electronic whizz kids Korg. They also gave drummers a chance to hear one of our favourite releases from last year, The President Series.

Sabian gave us a chance to hear JoJo Mayer’s new cymbal range, the HHX Anthology range. Deliberately designed to be as versatile as possible, we firmly believe these cymbals are going to grow to be very popular with gigging drummers.
